Dear Educator:
Just a quick reminder that applications are being accepted through January 11, 2011 for "TECH 2011: Students for the Information Age" which will take place Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Illinois State Capitol Building in Springfield, IL. To apply, and to view complete event information, please visit the TECH 2011 website at http://www.iceberg.org/tech_2011.
The TECH 2011 event strives to showcase classroom technology projects from across the state. The purpose of the event is two-fold: 1) to raise awareness of the critical role technology plays in preparing students to succeed in today’s world; and 2) to show the need for increased funding for classroom technology.
All schools from throughout the state of Illinois are encouraged to apply to participate in this event. Schools selected to participate in TECH 2011 will send a team of two or three students to Springfield accompanied by one teacher or administrator. Each team is limited to a total of four participants who will demonstrate a school project from approximately 12:30pm-3pm on May 5 in the Rotunda of the Illinois State Capitol. Selected teams will represent a balanced distribution between legislative districts, grade levels and curricular areas. Our goal is to select one team from every legislative district in the state.
TECH 20XX events are fun, memorable experiences for participants and observers alike. We hope a team of your students will choose to help us demonstrate the importance of instructional technology to those at the highest levels of state government.
If your school/district has already applied to participate in this exciting event, thank you! If you intend to apply, please submit an application by January 11, 2011 online at http://www.iceberg.org/tech_2011.
Thanks! Enjoy the winter break!
